Serapis (1779 – England)

Description

“SERAPIS” (1779)

Model numbered – delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

• The “SERAPIS”, was a British Royal Navy launched in 1779 , built by Randall § Brentat Rotherhithe. Armed with 44 guns , she was captured by the Americans during the American Revolutionary War.

• The ship was transferred to the French navy and was subsequently lost off the coast of Isle Ste Marie in 1781. The wreck site was originally located in 1999 by Dick Swete.
