• USS constitution is a wooder hulled, three-masted frigate of the United States Navy.She is the oldest commissioned warship afloat .
• Her duties were to provide protection for american merchant shipping during the Quasi War. But The USS Costitution was famous when she fought the british friate HMS Guerriere. She earned her nickname: ‘old Ironsides’.
• Constitution was rated as a 44-gun frigate but she carried more than 50 guns at a time
