With an overall length of 30.86 m and a sail area of 528 m2, she was built in New York. On August 28, 1851, AMERICA won the Royal Yacht Squadren Cup, also known as the “Hundred Guineas Cup”, which became the America’s Cup.
She was converted into a training ship after the American Civil War.
